EXHIBITION

Using AR to better visualize new developments.

Vouse presents the augmented reality (AR) app for the Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) 2019 at the Expo. The leading trade event for industries lasted from 22 - 24 Oct, bringing together an ecosystem of manufacturers, government agencies and businesses to shape and support their transformation initiatives.

The app premiered as part of JTC’s Jurong Innovation District (JID) planning; using AR to visualize new precincts, connectivity, amenities and industry testbeds for the new Cleantech Park and the upcoming Bahar and Bulim areas.

We launched the JID to fundamentally change the way organisations collaborate – by bringing the various nodes of the advanced manufacturing ecosystem together, into a single district to create a one-stop campus.

Using the AR app, visitors may learn more about the JID with the help of the scale model. Precinct boundaries, connectivity and community information are overlaid onto the scale model such that users may relate these design elements to a spatial understanding of the upcoming developments. With the app at their fingertips, staff members are better equipped to engage visitors and convey information on the new developments to attendees of the event.

After ITAP 2019, the AR app and the scale model will be visiting various community centres around the Jurong region, for residents to get to know more about the upcoming developments in their neighbourhood.
